Hello families and students,

My name is Yesica Avendano and I feel privileged to have the opportunity to work with you on this new academic year.  I am looking forward to meeting all of you and to get to know you.   I would like to welcome you to the year 2025-2026.  You will be learning many new things this school year and I will be right there with you learning as well.  My philosophy is to be a life long learner and I would like to instill that in you as well.

So that you know a little bit more about me, I have been a math teacher for 11 years at Stockton Unified School District.  However, math has been in my heart way before then and will continue to be in the future.  Mathematics was the gateway that got me started working with my community.  I would have never imagined that my life would take me down this path of education.  I love that I now have the access to impact our community and be the support that our community needs. 

As an Assistant principal here at San Joaquin Elementary I am here to support your education and growth.  See me as a partner in education to advance all of us towards a brighter future.
